Specialist, System Maintenance Mechanic

JOB DESCRIPTION

The System Maintenance  Mechanic Specialist is responsible for repairing and maintaining all equipment within the warehouse system, including parts purchasing.  In this role, the Specialist must identify, troubleshoot, repair and provide solutions for problems that occur in Automation equipment and processes. Fills in for Operations Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform immediate repairs
• Schedule and conduct preventive maintenance
• Generate and complete work orders as assigned
• Rebuild and fabricate parts if needed

• Fill in for Operations Supervisor as needed
• Utilize menu driven software, troubleshoot system issues.
• Interface with the Vertique support team as required. 
• Record any system events that affect production and send out descriptive e-mails each night identifying any issues that affected production. 
• Monitor the palletizers to ensure a continuous operation.
• Capable of operating and repairing equipment
• Monitor the case conveyor going into the palletizers to incorrect or product out of specs before it enters the palletizer.
• Lead others and inform pickers and fork truck drivers when critical items need to be addressed.
• Respond to sequence check alarms, or any other system stoppage, and ensure that sequencing is accurately maintained as product flows through the conveyor system.
• Be alert for issues or conditions that may cause system difficulties.

  JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
• 1-3 years of Industrial Maintenance experience required
• Demonstrated mechanical, technical and electrical aptitude
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills

• Basic proficiency with computer applications (Microsoft Office and Outlook) High school diploma or GED required.
• Computer and database application skills.

• Ability to operate a manual / powered pallet jack or lift product
• Must be able to work nights, weekends or other irregular hours as required by business needs
