Production Planner

Position Overview


Supply Chain – Sr Logistic Production Planner will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the production master schedule for multiply production facilities that meets all actual production and demand requirements, as well as meeting customer service levels. Also, is knowledgeable and can perform the duties of purchasing of full goods and distribution requirement planning.

- Strategic Planning: Establishes and oversees the Development of production plans and schedules that meet the customer demands, and production capacity for multiply production facilities utilizing the 'SAP Production and Capacity Modules'

- Prepare and sequence Production schedules for the following weeks. Stay in constant communications with assigned plants to ensure execution of schedule.

- Maintain and update daily the SAP release/schedule production orders for each assigned plant.

- Maintain PP (production planning) and MRP (material requirement planning) profiles to ensure the integrity of the SAP Production and Capacity Modules are fully utilized.

-Knowledge of SAP/ECC/APO production environment to analyze systems suggested production requirements for reasonableness - Sequence flavors and packages to maximize efficiencies while minimizing operating cost.

- Review and analyze line capacity to determine if alternative sourcing is required - If overcapacity coordinate within the department to ensure consistent supply.

- Maintain system parameters for production scheduling. - Coordinate with Planners II (deployment Planners) on product needs

- Assist Lifecyle Manager with 'New Product Launches' on produced full goods - Conduct weekly production schedule meetings with respective Production Center.


 

 

 

Function Specific Activities:

  • Plan production: work with plant operations to understand constraints and capabilities to achieve optimal planning by increasing output while reducing cost.
  • Inventory management: Optimize inventory levels using statistical models to design min/max/re-order levels to for finished goods and raw materials to support operational plans and customer demand of the plant as well as inventory levels within the parameter set by inventory policy.
  • Monitoring levels continuously adjusting to future planned production and purchase orders as necessary. Monitor “age of stock” reports to avoid risk of slow moving and obsolete materials.
  • Master Data: maintain, monitor and revise essential system planning data to ensure SAP system effectively planning future material requirements for finished goods and raw materials.
  • Appreciation for the importance that master data plays in driving the MRP process. Must have ability to identify gaps in master data that are driving sub-optimal MRP results.
  • Demand Forecast: review historical customer orders and material usage versus forecast and work with Demand Planning on under/over forecast to achieved optimal inventory management.
  • Knowledge of demand forecasting techniques and inputs (e.g. business trends, seasonality, consumption patterns).
  • Supplier Collaboration: Ensure that the SAP system creating demand signals sufficient to drive supplier production planning.
  • New Items & Product discontinuations: In working with Procurement/Lifecycle and Plant Raw material planner ensures availability of material requirements for all new product and package launches.
  • Coordinate run-out of materials and/or ingredients for all package sunsets. Also coordinates the commercialization of new products.
  • Clearly and proactively communicate potential supply chain interruptions. As daily routine, review production issues communicate with stakeholders’ (plants/management/lifecycle/deployment planners/transportation/procurement/QC, etc.
  •  Records for daily production and execution (planned vs executed.
  • In addition, collect and analyze various data related with production to perform strategic & prioritized activities such as KPI monitoring, (capacity simulation) for future projects.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum:

  • Education – bachelor’s degree (Business Administration/Management, or equivalent)
  • 3 to 5 years previous production planning, industrial engineering or analytical experience
  • Microsoft Office applications – Intermediate to Advanced level of skill on excel
  • SAP – Intermediate level of skill
